How does the Under Display Camera Work?

Xiaomi and Oppo have done a great job by implementing the under display camera just as the under display fingerprint scanner. The main game changer here is the partially transparent display.

I know, the world was expecting that Samsung will be the first one to do that as they are producing some great great displays such as the Super Retina Display and what not but NO.

Also Samsung have shown us some amazing displays which almost transparent such as this.

How does it Actually Work?

They work same as that of in-display fingerprint scanner. Here the display above the 

IR Scanner + Camera is a speciall one which has a very low reflecting scale.

So, It works like when you open your camera, The display above your camera display goes transparent and hence it is possible for the camera to look through the display. Yes there will be some flaws as they are 1st generation under display cameras but as time changes they will be more perfect than ever.

SO WHY WEREN'T THEY POSSIBLE EARLIER?

The most important factor that plays role is the display. In earlier time the displays were not possible to build/create as they are now. Today many futuristic displays are available such a folding displays, transparent displays , etc.. The company has still not revealed which display they have used and they have also not specified the model or series of the phone. But it is expected that it will be released with the MI-9.
